2012 Disability Awareness Celebration

The Pittsburgh Pirates invite people with and without disabilities to join them as they take on the San Francisco Giants on Friday, July 6 for the 2012 Disability Awareness Celebration. Starting at 4:30 p.m., a pre-game resource fair at PNC Park will take place, with various vendors, service agencies and more. The game starts at 7:05, and tickets range from $9 to $21/ticket depending on the seating location. Three Rivers Center for Independent Living Open House

Three Rivers Center for Independent Living (TRCIL) will be having an open house on May 31st from 12 PM – 4 PM. Attendees can check out their accessible gym, computer lab, assistive technology demo center, and much more! There will be raffles and prizes with light refreshments! Voices for Independence’s Poker Run

Like to ride motorcycles? Join over 200 riders with and without disabilities on June 24 for the Poker Run benefiting Voices for Independence! Cars and Hot Rods are also invited to join! There will be 5 stops on the 90 mile ride. At each stop you’ll pick up a playing card and whomever has the best “poker hand” at the last stop wins! The last stop is at Lakeside Tavern on Route 19 in Waterford, PA. Registration is from 10 AM – 11 AM, and the ride begins right after. It’s $10 per rider and $5 per passenger.
