For six years, the YAI Network's annual Latino Health Care Conference has helped people with developmental and learning disabilities and their families identify services and resources to provide them with opportunities to succeed. Conducted entirely in Spanish, this conference has provided information on addressing challenging behaviors and accessing health care and other services for people with disabilities.

Amidst the fun, individuals fundraised to support Best Buddies Pennsylvania, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities! Come for food, entertainment, and prizes and help us raise awareness and end the social isolation of people with intellectual disabilities.

The CSUN Conference will offer over 300 general sessions with experts who will be presenting in-depth information on the latest issues and future trends in the areas of disabilities and technology.

The 2010 Pacific Rim International Conference will revisit familiar themes and explore new directions through scholarship, best practices, and international networking. The conference is organized into three areas: Foundation, the topical areas the Center for Disability Studies has been or is currently engaged in; Exploration, probing topics that CDS has not previously addressed but have impact on the security and well-being of all people with disabilities; and Innovation which seeks to showcase new ideas, concepts, solutions, ideas and applications that can benefit people with disabilities during this economic downturn.

American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) collaborates with national and international partners in offering educational opportunities to the global disability community. Best practices, new policy directions, and the latest research findings are presented. The Autism Awareness Fair 2010 promotes autism awareness in the community and allows providers and vendors to exhibit their services. Additionally, this event allows parents to share information, and people affected by autism to network and locate appropriate resources. The supervised children’s play area gives parents the opportunity to visit the providers and vendors while their children play safely in the secure area complete with bounce houses, obstacle course, slide, sensory play, and many talented volunteers.

The YAI Network’s International Conference serves as a major forum for the exchange of ideas and the introduction of new models and strategies that have a positive impact in the field of developmental and learning disabilities. The focus of the conference is on treatment and practices, new models and strategies that enhance the lives of people with developmental and learning disabilities and their families.

Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk so that 100 percent of the money raised by walkers goes to the participating organizations. The primary goal of the walk is to help participating organizations raise money for their individual missions. ABA International's annual convention is attended by more than 4,000 people from over 40 countries. The convention provides a forum for nearly 40 simultaneous events during the day sessions. Convention attendees are professors, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, teachers, parents, and consultants in the field. Continuing education for psychologists and certified behavior analysts is also available. The annual convention offers a lively venue for discussion and networking for anyone interested in the field.
